Fellow sailors, I am still in denial but have to admit the season is over. One thing I didn't do this spring (And I wish I had) was to clearly mark where the straps go when hauling my 79 30'. I have many pics of her on the hard, but none form the side that give me a good relative view of things. (Prop and prop shaft, etc) Does anyone have a clear shot of a 30 near the vintage of mine on the hard. Or, recommendations on how to allign the straps when hauling to not cause damage. Kind regards, Bob Alden

Not to worry

The yard has a good feel for avoiding the prop, which is the only thing at risk. The straps are already evenly spaced and all the hauler is trying to do is make sure it lifts evenly without tipping forward or back. Rest easy.

knotmeter wheel

Don't have access to photos of my '77 H30, but the lift operators at my yard have always been very good about avoiding the prop and shaft. A bigger concern might be the knotmeter wheel if you don't remove it before hauling out. Its location can vary between two otherwise identical boats, so if you leave it in place, make sure you know exactly where it is and keep the straps off it.

Strap placement

I have a 1976 H-30, and if yours is the same just have them pull the front and rear straps tight to the keel and you will be fine.
