I have a Passage 42 and when bringing in the chain, it will not free fall on its own. If I don't feed it thru it will bunch up under the capstan and stall the windlas. Any suggestions.
In my case, (1996 H376), it was EITHER a beautiful forecabin OR trouble free anchor handling.
The 2" dia plastic plumbing tube feeds the chain into the centre of the top of the chain locker whereas previously it fed or rather slid down the Vee in the fibreglass of the bow - where it piled up until everything jammed solid.
Now I can lower and raise the anchor single-handed and from the helm position.
Never fails.
See photo. It really does not cause any problems for sleepers in the forward berths.
