What's the average price to have your vessel taken out of the water? I'm in the Freeport Florida area. Also, need to locate a place to make it all happen. Unstepping & shipping 85 miles to the north to dry land. No lift on the drop off site.

85 miles isn't that far. Why not sail it or motor sail it? Avg 5kts less that 17 hrs... avg 6.5 its around 13hrs.. OR do it in 2 legs. Otherwise to unstep, transport, step and launch...north of $3000.00

I think he said to dry land. That would be somewhere in Alabama. Can't sail there.

Yes, he is moving it to dry land near or at his home, to work on it; it is a project boat.
Probably a minimum of $2000.00 to haul out, unstep mast, and load on truck, & transport. Will have to hire a crane to unload on land for additional $$.
He was inquiring about purchasing stands on which to place boat while working on it.
This is going to be an expensive project from the start.

I've read and re-read the post. Unless something is posted own a previous post that I'm not seeing, there is no mention of Alabama... Having said that, any bot hauler should be able to haul, spot and level the boat on stands. If the place to spot the boat in not on a concrete pad, you should place the stands on either use half sheets of CDX under each stand or get some 5/4 PT deck boards. Cut them into 15-18" lengths and double them up with deck screws. use a hole saw and drill out the TOP board ( about an inch and a half). Use a regular bit to drill thru the centering hold to allow rain water to drain out. The stand legs will slot into the hole saw areas. This process will spread the weight out over a larger area.. The area under the keel blocks ALSO needs support to prevent settling. Soft ground is your enemy...

I believe Benny inferred it from this:
"I'm in the Freeport Florida area. Unstepping & shipping 85 miles to the north to dry land."

85 miles north of Freeport puts you in Alabama.

Right on the state lines. I found out recently this area is referred to as a tri state area. Hmm. Do you transport? Hydraulic?

Thank you very much. I appreciate the detail.

$10/ foot for short haul on Long Island. Not sure about the mast stepping. Hopefully someone in FLA can give you local prices.

I just got a quote for $644 for a Hunter 46 haul out. Suggest getting a quote from the boatyard that you plan to have it hauled out at.

My mast gets unstepped at our Club... no cost... Transportation to our house is $400. Roughly a 10 mile run..

That's a great price. Unstepping alone was quoted at $700 at the only place that I could find out here...so far

We step and unstep around 22 masts at our club... Great community process. We do steppings and unstepping every other weekend because of the tides.
