Hatch Umbrella

Hi, I am looking for advice/reviews about using a hatch umbrella. Do you have one and love it, hate it, or have you made any modifications? My concern is having to go out on deck at 3AM to install it in the rain--perhaps taking down the wind-scoop at the same time.

well if you are talking about the square "tent" with the loop in the center to be the effective tentpole, i picked one up at a sale.I use it at night over the sliding companionway hatch (H28.5) when I want some air but no rain ingress. I tie the center loop off to the above boom and bunge the 4 corners to the handrails. Works okay for me - I could use it over the forwad Vberth hatch but its a venting hatch -so no need there.

Hatch Hoodie

I just recently got a Hatch Hoodie from BannerBayMarine.com at the Miami boat show and used twice so far really good,once you set it up it covers the vee berth hatch and so no worry about rain coming in and it get a lot of air into the boat.
