It was fairly easy, although anytime you cut a large hole in your boat you gulp hard as you proceed...8^) It was a very easy install. The critical part is to seal the exposed plywood/balsa core to prevent water from entering. I would recommend making a thinned epoxy and soaking the exposed core end well to seal off the wood capillaries, then apply a thickened epoxy coating, buttering it over the exposed core ends. I used Sikaflex or LifeCaulk for bedding the hatch. I believe the hatch was a Bomar, 12"X16". A template and set of instructions came with the hatch kit. Don
