I am looking for screens for my 91 Hunter 30T. Has anyone tried to get them from Hunter. I think they were offered on the boats when new.

Repair your own

Take home the plastic ring with the old screen. Stop at your local hardware store and purchase plastic screen that will cover the area. Scrape off the old screen with utility knife. Lay this ring down on plywood scrap larger than the screen ring. Lay the new screen over the "inside" side of the ring. Power staple one end to the plywood. Pull the other side of the screen tight and power staple. Pull the top and bottom tight and continue staples. The screen should now be smooth and tight over the plastic ring. Apply continous ring of plastic glue arround the trim ring to cement the screen to the ring. Allow drying time. Trim outside of trim ring with utility knife. This will remove from plywood board. Take back to boat and install. Throw plywood scrap away or save for next project. Cost of project: under $10.00 and and some time at night.

Need the Rings Too

Thanks For the info.I didn't get the screen frames with the boat. But you did give me an Idea on how to make my own. Oh darn! I may have to walk around the hardware store for an hour or so. I hope my wife won't mind. Thanks for your help.

Replacement Parts

You can find a variety of port window replacement parts at Pompanette LLC. We ordered our windows seals from them and are starting to replace them as they leak.

They Came With My 30T

You are right - Hunter supplied screens for the four overhead opening hatches and the four side opening Lewmar portlights for their new boats in 1991. It is worth a phone call to Hunter to see whether they still stock them.

Try right here for ports and accessories

I have ordered from Pompanette before for my '95 H-29.5, but Hunter Owners now has many of these port accessories and they are cheaper! The reason is -- as Pompanette will tell you -- they can't undersell their retail distributors. Check ou tthe Chandlery. You'll need to confirm who made your portlights and accessories because Hunter used several vendors during this time -- Gray, Beckson, etc.

What about Fixed ports????

I need to reseal the large fixed ports on my 31H has anyone tackled this? It appears to have about a 3/4 - 1" rubber seal around it.

what about new fixed ports?

There is a company in Southern California that has replacment ports for these boats. The company is Mark Plastics, Corona California (909/735-7705). I think that you are looking at about $350 for both ports. If you are familiar with an Islander, they are built similar to those.
