A couple of friends have tried their hand at chartering. Insurance is expensive. You can do sunset cruises, snorkleing tours, overnights. I am using my boat kind of as a display model. I do woodwork and sell marine supplys and docking accesories. I am in the middle of building a webpage but I believe most of my business will come from the lake where I keep my boat docked. No frieght charges if I deliver down to the lake every weekend. The owner of the marina has told me it would be fine to leave flyers at the restauraunt and word will get around at the docks. wouldn't that be a dream...

we don't make money with the boat but my husband uses it as an office sometimes as we live in a very small house... so tax-wise that is a boon. we also rent it to our company for a few hours each year as we are in a segment of the marine industry. still costs us a lot more that we would like and so we have to make more money in the first place to feed our addiction. let us know if there is a real way to make money with a boat...

Haven't you heard....

... the little ditty that goes like this: "Sailing is the art of getting cold and wet, while slowly going nowhere at great expense...." Sort of sums up the possibilities....

"It's easy to simulate the joy of boating in your own home. All you have to do is stand under a cold shower and tear up hundred-dollar bills."
