Has anyone tried this for refrigeration?

Has anyone tried replacing the top to their Icebox with a Kooltron (12 volt electric refrigeration cooler) unit? I can buy them for about $150 (Cdn) and it has the entire refrigeration unit in the lid. Could I not just replace my icebox lid for one of these? It is certainly less expensive an my icebox is well insullated.

Where do you get a kooltron, I never heard of one. Sounds like it would work very well if its not too large. You may have to insulate your cooler a little better.

What's the current draw?

Sounds like a good idea, but most 12v based coolers are designed for a car and can draw 4 to 5 amps. If you have a large battery bank, that might not be bad, if not, there's a lot of engine running to keep that thing going.
