Has anyone seen the blue whales off Palos Verdes

They have been hanging around the
south end of the channel 7 to 10 NM off Newport and a week ago I saw one about a mile and a half off the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel.

I saw one today.
I was out today, about 9-10 NM west of Pt Loma and noticed 2-3 spouts off about 200-300 yds, then he lifted is large fluke and waved good bye. What a sight, and of course too fast for a camera. Then about 20-30 minutes later, a Navy ship heading out of SD going north not too far from us, notified someone via Ch 16 that they were going to "all stop" due to a whale off their port bow. Not sure if it was the same one I saw, or another. Bob.

I was returning from Two Harbors
about a month ago and I saw a large tanker headed into LA/LB turn 180 and come to a stop in an unusual place. Pretty strange behavior I thought till I saw spouts alongside him, never saw a ship stop to whale watch before.
