Vela Sailing Supply in Rockwall TX.
Just curious before I send off my hard earned money. Their prices were the best for what I needed (Hayne lifeline studs).
They look reputable from their website - and I've never known a Texan that I couldn't trust :)

The owner (Rod) is a personal friend of mine. A great guy and a great sailor. He will not do you wrong.

Chris,

When I buy online, I use PayPal only. I never give out my card number/security code to an unknown voice over the phone or on a website. Too many people have been hacked & bank accounts hit.

The good news is that they do not charge buyers, only sellers & the amounts are reasonable,
as I've also been a seller on PP.

I have never had a problem with PP in over 10 years. If the vela site has a PP option, then you are safe.
If knot, pick a form of payment that offers you security, like a bank check, electronic transfers etc.
If knot signed up with PP, it's a free account with no annual fees.

This also applies to Social Security numbers. Only a few Govt. & financial institutions require it but, I hardly ever do it.

Something to think about pal.

I have ordered from them with very good success. He sent me samples of line to make choosing easier.

Are they a brick-and-mortar store or online only? I may have to take a detour next time I head down to Tejas. Some friends at our sailing club retired there with their Mac 26M.

I bought all my traveler parts from them among other things. Never had an issue.

Thanks for the positive replies. I'll definitely place my order with them. I've also heard from a few local sailors who order from them frequently.

Thanks again,

Chris
