Has anyone mounted a RAM mic in cockpit?

Since I purchased my Standard Intrepid VHF radio and RAM mic a couple of years ago, I hang my RAM mic loosely in the port lazarette, and hang it on the binnacle post while sailing/cruising. Because of limited space in the T cockpit, I can't figure out where to mount the mic, so it is out of the way, but quick and easily accessible, and won't be kicked by crewmembers in cockpit. Any thoughts? Thanks ...

On my 35.5 I put the ram mic just forward of the engine gauges on the starboard side of the cockpit. It is away from the wheel so I don't have to worry about it being caught in the wheel.

Suggestion: Mount it under the engine control pane

It's fairly easy to run the cable through the head and aft cabin to the space just under the engine control panel, which is accessible from the aft cabin. You'll need to drill a hole large enough to accommodate the connector.

And use a waterproofing grommet to prevent chafe and to seal the wire in that oversized hole.
