Has Anyone Installed the CD Heavy Duty Gate Stanchion on their New Design?

Waffle House needs and, she deserves new life lines to look and be her best. Having said this, Catalina Direct steers us to this Gate Stanchion:
Gate Stanchion Heavy Duty Port CP-22, C-22
Has anyone installed this stanchion on their New Design? I love the idea of an easy to reach handhold for guests while boarding but, is this a good solution for the New Design or is this going to be the project from hell to install? I should also say that the current in place stern stanchions which support the currently installed lifelines and the associated rear gates show no signs of bending as CD implies. Thank you in advance for your replies and advice.

Hard pass, if you ask me. CD describes this as a "routine problem"? I've never heard of that stanchion bending, other than from hitting a dock. In which case, you WANT it to bend, rather risk it ripping loose from the deck.

It's also too far forward and too short to be used as a boarding handhold, IMHO. I don't see how one would reach it while stepping into the cockpit.

Thanks for the input Gene. I was leaning in that direction and placed the order for the lifelines sans the HD Stanchions. FWIW, I did inquire about sending in my old lifelines and having CD rig up the new lines to match the old and found out that they no longer offer that service. I imagine that this is old news to many but, but since I took about a twenty-five year break from sailing and I just discovered CD when I began refitting Waffle House, it was news to me. lol

FWIW, I also bought their standard lifeline kit. It fit just fine, no issues, had it a couple years now. The only possible complaint is that the cable cutters included in the kit are only just barely up for the job. Hopefully you have strong hands. LOL
