I am visiting Kerr Lake and the last two days have been quite windy. Yesterday I made a 20 mile trip in two hours flat. Today I wenrt out on the lake and found my self with a following wind. The boat was runing very well and I got a little vibration on the centerboard and the rudder. I felt the wind kind of pick up slightly and I looked at the transom and the boat was several inches above the water and it had accelerated quite a bit. I would have liked a gps to check it and it only lasted about a minute but it was definitely exhilerating. Good winds and good sailing.

Way to go, Ed. We went to Savannah this past weekend and sailed in the Wilmington River almost out to the open water. Did not get the boat to plane but did do quite a bit of surfing on the way back and caught up with a Catalina 22 that had about a half mile start on us. Almost caught up with a very large boat that I could not identify but they dropped sail and surrendered before we caught them. By the way, when water comes over the side it is difficult not to fall off the boat. When are you going to be back of Lake Juliette?
