for cleaning their bottoms? I'm pulling my boat in a couple of weeks, and it has a lot of crusted algae on the bottom. Just wondered if it worked like they claim.

Power Wash

It has been my experience that if you power wash the bottom immediately all you need to do is a light sanding. If you don't power wash then everything sets up like concrete. The product may have potential for the shaft and prop though. Paul

I hav not used that,

but I did use a similar product, it is an acid that will remove all types of growth, especially if it is still wet from being in the water. I think it was a Marykate product called ON and OFF?, Oxalic acid is good to use too.

The Works

I agree with Paul. It has been my experience that power washing the hull imediately after pulling her out of the water blows off all of the algae quick and easy... down to the bottom coat. You have to be careful not to blow that off as well if you have a good power washer. I use a toilet bowl product called "The Works" to remove hard water stains along the water line. Rubber gloves required. Spread a light coat on the stains with a sponge and watch the stains disappear, rise very very well. Then wax her before you let her stand for the winter.

Save yourself some money!

Go down to Smart & Final (or any place that has janitorial supplies) and get a quart bottle of their generic liquid toilet bowl cleaner. It shouldn't cost more that $4.00. It is an acid based cleanser that will absolutely, positively remove any organic scum from your bottom, even if it has dried out. Squirt some on a wet, long handled brush, or make a mixture in a bucket. (try to keep it off your hands) A little goes a long way. Wipe it on and hose it off. That's all it takes.
