I'm looking for a replacement car for my existing traveler. The traveler is a Harken which was fitted to a Catalina 30 in 1989. Does anyone have a lead to find this item. Thank You

Get the original part number then call Harken directly. If the OEM car has the typical 'recirculating torlon ball bearings' they can provide you also with the 'ball loading device'. If the traveller car 'does' have the recirculating balls, get extra balls when you order the car as this 'ball insertion' is not easy and possibly many will 'go over the side' when you attempt to 'load' them into the car. Construct a 'dam' with large masking tape under/near the car when you load the balls into the car ... many that do spill will be caught on the sticky tape.

Harken recently (in the last few years) changed all their hardware and made older systems like yours obsolete. They, however, do have parts for older systems, but do not advertise them or list them in their current calendar. Since they do not sell to the public, you can go to your favorite local Chandlery and give them the info on your system. I assume you have the midrange track. The local marine store can try to identify your product and then call Harken for a part number and order it for you.
