My main hatch lid (slider type) is very hard to slide open. Its made of heavy laminated plastic I think "Hunter Legend 37 " and my wife especially has great difficulity sliding it open and close as we keep it in the closed position whensailing and doing deck work. any suggestions on what type of lubricant or whatever would make this hatch slide easier.' Thanks, Barrie

ez fix

Barrie, Get a little silicon spray for the track. carefull not to overspray onto other areas. I have an 87 h37 legend. e mail me at joris_hitt@hotmail.com if you have other questions. I'm currently going through the entire boat for the most part. Best regards, Joris

H31 same problem

I have the same problem when the sun shines on it, it expands and gets tight. I usually lay a a white towel on it when docked, then it opens easily.

Butter flavor Crisco

Crisco cause it's slick and stays put Butter flavor cause.... well, in case I get hungry on my way to the fordeck. It's my favorite flavor.

try my ol' stand by.

Barrie: Try my ol' stand by McLube. It is a dry lube that does not attract dirt. I use it on my blocks, sheet stopper, sail track, you name it. Several of the hardware mfg. spray their hardware with this prior to shipment. Be sure that the slider and the track are as clean as you can get them before you spray them.

Main hatch opening

Barrie, for years I've just used plain parafin, same stuff used for canning. Get it at grocery store. I keep a block on the boat, and merely rub it on the slide whenever it needs it. Cheap and effective.
