hard to adjust sheet & boom

I've got a 1992 Cat 30 with mid-boom sheeting. The boom seems to be more difficult to move than I would suppose. I've replaced the main sheet and checked the blocks which all appear to spin easily.

I'm used to end-boom sheeting (had a C&C 35 with no problems) which is fast and easy but the mid-boom seems hard to adjust without winching - any suggestions? thanks

What purchase do you have available on the traveler car control lines? Many of us have upgraded the cars to the 6:1 from Garhauer.

I also bought the Garhauer 6:1 traveler and use it all the time. Best addition to the boat. Continuous traveler line long enough to come back to the helm. I also didn't like the way the main sheet was set up with it eventually going through a clutch to the winch. I replaced that system with a triple ratchet block with cam cleat attached directly to the traveler. I used the existing 3 blocks on the boom. There is less friction and with a long enough main sheet I run it back to the helm. Works much better for me.

i'm missing stu's reference to the traveler, but my switch to garhauer blocks and line on my mainsheet made a big positive difference. old blocks can seem sorta ok until you switch to ball bearing ones.
