Engine is hard to start. Outside temps are in the 60's. It will attempt to fire but will not. When I blow warm air from a hairdryer into the air intake it starts fine. not the most ideal way to get it started. I have read about under sized wire to the start switch so I've hooked up a trigger switch directly to the started until I get around to running new wire to the switch.

Does this engine use a glow plug or some other type of heater?

Several things that cause hard starting.
1. Weak battery.
2. Faulty glow plug circuit.
3. Bad starter.
4. Loose ground.
5. Bad or under sized battery cables.
6. Bad fuel.
7. The viscosity of the engine oil even has an effect on cold starting.
8. Worn engine.
9. Faulty injector.
10. Restricted air flow, in or out.
