I wrote the group about hard starting in my Westerbeke 10B, a problem that persisted and worsened for 2 years despite new glowplugs, rebuilt injectors etc. Turned out that the engine, after 500 hours, simply needed valve adjustment. Until the engine was warm, the valves didn't seat properly so compression was inadequate for reliable combustion.
Also my Horizon Standard DS 10 started giving nonsense. Called the company, they said it sounded like the "display head" had gone, replaced with a shiny new DS 45, and I am back in business. Replacement was simple and I can still use the old transducer.
