Hard spot on starboard side of hull

I had a 1975 27 surveyed and discovered 2 things of concern to me that the surveyor didn't think were important. Wondered if anyone had any experience with these. 1. Crazing and hard spot on the hull, starboard, in general location of chain plate. Can't see cause because of the liner in the head area. Worried about pressure from some source inside and its consequences for hull integrity. 2. Five or six inches to the left and right of the post under the mast in cabin there are cracks in the liner. These run from port to starboard, not aft to stern, and surveyor said not to worry--if cracking was caused by compression they'd be closer to the post and they'd run aft to stern. Thanks in advance.

Hard spot

Could the hard spot be caused by the bulkhead? And how much crazing was there? If there was a lot, I think the surveyor might have shown a little concern. Only a few? Probably no big deal. These boats aren't laid up to cross oceans, so there's gonna be flexing which will craze the old gelcoat. That may be the cause of the crazing by the compression post but I'd have to trust the surveyor's opinion on that. Is the deck soft around the mast? Any give? That's a sign of a problem & I'm sure he checked for it. Here's the next question...do you trust this surveyor? If not, spend the extra $75 to have another one come down to check those areas! If they both say the same thing, you're probably fine. LaDonna
