Hard Shifting

I have a 1993 Vision 36. Since I have had the boat, I have had a problem with hard shifting. After having the Kazaki transmission repaired and the shift cable replaced, it still shifts hard. The mechanic tells me shift control was never designed for the engine/transmission (3JH2E/KBW10). The shift control manufacturer (Morse)tells me they put in what Hunter specified and Hunter claims they never heard of the problem before. Help Has anyone else had this problem, or if they did, how was it fixed.

Shift Cable

It was my experience in my Hunter 35 with a very hard shift and throttle control was that the problem was the Morse shift cables. I ordered a set from the Edson people and my shift effort (reduced) is much much better. The probem is the internal materials used with the Morse cables. The Edson cables can be had from their web page. Robert Dean Hunter Legend 35 w/Yanmar 3GM engine
