Happy Turkey Day ...... eh

Yesterday was Thanksgiving up north here. We took Friday off and made it a 4 day weekend. What a huge bonus weekend it was. Sunny and temps in the high 60's to high 70's Monday. A little cool at night but was tolerable. Bonus part was very few boats out in the anchorages, 3-5 or only us where there could be 30 - 100 during the summer. Sailed a couple of days and moved around to different islands depending on the evening wind direction.

and an afternoon sail

Headed out for a sail on Sunday moving from one island to another. Was calm enough the the kids jumped into the dinghy while underway and my daughter took pics of the boat under sail while my son drove.

Nice photos. We have Santa Ana's here. Hot desert easterly winds. Great for heading north off the coast of California. Amazing how calm the water looks.

It's not often that Georgian Bay gets this calm, and it was very calm during the day. That anchorage with the sunset is exposed right out into the main part of the bay.

This is 1:00 in the afternoon on the north side of Hope Island and right in the main part of Georgian Bay.

Christian Island ( of Gordon Lightfoot fame BTW) is the "A" balloon. Beckwith is just to the East and Hope right above. They can be rough when the wind kicks up from the West or NW especially if for an extended period. Lots of water to build rollers and waves.
