It depends on how they are rigged. Any "range" of boat sizes that you are considering? Your question, as put, is like: "Which car is easier to drive, a Volkswagen or a Chevy?"

I like the looks and layout of the Hanse 400 that showed up here this summer BUT there are also a LOT of New hunters here that seem to do FINE and in fact in race we droped out of 2 of the only 9 finishers were Hunters
I think that some of the Hanse's come with a self tending jib which would be an advantage. You can always do this to a Hunter if that becomes your choice. I think having the arch and much of your controls there would also give the Hunter somewhat of an advantage.

I'm thinking in the 32' to 35' range. I don't drive either car, but would think the Chevy might be easier.

Thanks. Your answer has been what's been going thru my mind. I haven't price out either boats, but dealers seem to still be motivated especially if the boat is in stock.
My old marina is both a Hunter and a Hanse dealer. So over the years I was able to compare. The Hanse has a self-tending jib with a traveler making it easy to single-hand. It has the more traditional form so the interior is not as roomy as a Hunter. I did not care for the interior look, a more blonde looking finish, and not as airy. The cockpit was not as friendly, I think the traveler was in the way. I know they had trouble selling their first boat, took a long time. It has been a couple of years so take this with a grain of salt.
