Hanging a hammock on an O'Day 25

Hey Everyone,
I just bought an O'Day 25 and had a quick question for owners. I want to hang a hammock from the mast forward to the forward stay. What I am envisioning is connecting the forward part of the hammock to the forward stay and raising it with the jib halyard. The back part of the hammock will be connected to the spinnaker pole attachment on the mast and I might support it additionally with the spinnaker topping lift. My question is, is this a good idea? Will the weight pulling on the forward stay be to much and/or will the weight pulling on the spinnaker pole attachment be to much? Also, how have others attached hammocks to their boats? Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen others attach to the forestay and the mast, and given the typical loads on these from the sails, I wouldn't think this would be a problem. My concern would be bending my foil on the roller furling unit that I have. I have a Schaeffer unit with an aluminum foil that is not as flexible at the CDI unit on the 222. On my 222, I would typically attach my hammock to the mast and the end of the boom and then just hang in the cockpit/companionway. Now that I have a new (to me) O'Day 25, I'll probably look at the same setup, using the mast and aft-end of the boom as the attachment points.

My concern would be bending my foil on the roller furling unit that I have..

To help spread the load on the foil or furled sail I got a short (6") piece of 3" PVC pipe and cut a wide slot in the side. I slide the pipe over the sail and then tie the hammock around the pipe.

Hope that makes sense.

I understand the PVC pipe and hammock tied to the rolled sail but what keeps the hammock up....halyard?

Yes, an extra jib halyard. Sorry that wasn't clear.
