The hand pump on the sink of my 98 240 leaks badly at the base. Can this be rebuilt? If so does West or Boat US carry the parts. Any advice or part numbers would be appreciated. Doing a 4 day cruise Memorial Day around the Eastern Shore and need to get this taken care of.

Hand Pumps

Sean If the pumps on your 240 are like the ones on my 260, they are easy to repair. There are two "O" rings that are on the handle, and after repeated use they go bad. Take the pump apart, and go to Home Depot, and match the replacement "O" ring. Dan

Pump Repair

Dan is correct about the o rings. I have a '94 H26 that I got tired or either repairing the two hand pumps or replacing the very fragile barbed tubing connection ($5). I went to a RV supply store and bought two very similar, but better designed hand pumps for about $30 each. I only had to drill one new screw hole and it fit right into place. You can search the database for this common problem with Hunter supplied hand pumps.

Replaced

I replaced the faucet on my 23.5 with a 12v electric pump. My wife hated the hand pump. Has worked great for 5 years. Bought the shurflo with pump for $80.00.
