Hand-held wind speed unit

I am thinking of getting a hand-held wind speed unit. I see in the catalogs that Davis makes a variety of them. I would like some feedback from some owners of different units with their comments. The price range seems pretty wide. I think I am likely to shoot for the low end primarily just getting accurate wind speed. Some seem to need batteries and some do not. Hope to hear some recommendations.
