If you run your halyards to the cockpit, which makes single handing much easier, then you need to add more than ten feet. Two fairleads and a winch on either side of the hatch with an attending cleat makes a good system to haul sails from where the tiller is! Hal Kearsley

Got a message that your message failed fraud checks and an option to see blocked content. Thought you might like to know. On the jib halyard, take it to the bow before measuring it. Probably a know brainer. WaltFrom: AlbinVega@yahoogroups.com AlbinVega@yahoogroups.com on behalf of manningharvey@... [AlbinVega] AlbinVega@yahoogroups.com

Chuck and Laura Rose have written an entire page on their website cruisinglealea.com about replacing the running rigging on an Albin Vega. Chuck is the man to see on all things Vega. Another way is to attach a long tape measure to your existing halyard and
run it up to the top of your mast. Measure the distance from the mast step/deck to the top of the mast and multiply that number by two and add ten feet. That also works well. Good luck.
