That's a nice recommendation from Rufus. I know a sail dealer who is very happy with Regatta Braid on her 19' trailer sailer. She like Sta-set X for halyards.
My friend races Hobie 16s, and they have a crazy mainsheet block, maybe 8:1 purchase. He says all the racers like New England Salsa for a mainsheet, because the line is very comfortable on the hands, and runs through blocks very easily. Unfortunately, it's also somewhat ugly, if you like traditional line color schemes.
I decided to use it for my jib and main sheets. I like it very much. Although it's a single braid, it has not shown a tendency to flatten in cam cleats as other single braid lines do. It does get a bit fuzzy looking.
The only thing that remains to be seen is the UV longevity. Regatta Braid, being a polyester, should have very good UV resistance. The Salsa is a Dyneema/polyester blend, but is still supposed to have good UV resistance. I take all the extra line on mine, and coil it under the mainsail cover, but that still leaves the amount in the 3:1 purchase exposed. After a season, it does not look the worse for wear… I guess I'll see through the years…

i made this point in a thread recently and for op ill do it again, the above comments are all valid if thats what you arrive at for personal feel as well, i have normal old west marine sta-set from new england ropes in 3/8 diameter for my halyards and im fine with it, however i tried two different lines for my mainsheet (6-1 block and tackle system) and i can tell you without any doubt that regatta braid kicks ass for anything that has a high purchase count block and tackle, sta-set and other similar lines are fine for everything else but if you have a high purchase count block and tackle especially one that is standard blocks and not a cascade or fiddle arrangement then regatta braid is the ticket hands down. just trust me the first pull and ease under load will let you know, stretch isnt as big of an issue in these applications because the load is so spread out that it doesnt stretch much if any and on a mainsheet it can kindof be nice to have a little.
