I am so ^%&*&^ off! I have an old cdi Furler with the 'internal' halyard. The wire halyard pulled out of the channel near the bottom of my jibstay and is now stuck! Does anyone have any advice on prying the channel open to get the wire to fall back in? I can't lower my genny as it is now... Thanks.

Stuck Halyard

Try Pushing the wire back into the groove using a wood piece. You may have to pound it slightly.

For what it is worth...

...never having had this problem, my advice might be worth what you're paying for it, but I'd be sure to put some kind of lubricant, maybe just liquid dish soap, along the groove from the point where it is stuck on down, to help ease it in. Good luck.

Halyard CDI

I had the same CDI on my Catalina 30 TR and finally decided to buy a new furler. I opted for the new CDI, installed it myself the winter before last and it's starting the second season. The old CDI was so old I couldn't get parts and it just needed to be replaced. You might be nearing a time to consider replacing the system.

What about tension on the halyard

Get some mechanical purchase ( a winch). Tie onto the end of the halyard, then to winch and pull down so the wire is forced back into the slot. I have your furler, but this is a guess as a solution.
