Halyard pulleys

The little masthead pulleys that handle the main halyard are blown on my boat. They don't seem to be pulleys, really, just flimsy plastic bushings. Has anybody replaced these? If so, two questions: (1) Did you drill out the centers and put in new pulleys, or replace the whole masthead piece? (2) Where did you get the parts?

Hi Lawrence - Sorry I don't have a better answer for you, but check out Rudy's Daysailor page at the Related link below. If you can't find the part you need, try calling him directly. Best, Trevor

masthead

Hi, You can get a new masthead from D & R Marine, I think the last price I saw on that item was $21.90. Not too bad I guess, but you can just replace the pulleys. Either way you have to drill out rivets. D & R Marine is in Mass. and they also have a web site. Good luck. Tom
