On my recent purchase of a Catalina 30 I noticed the (2) Jib Halyards are no longer running inside the mast as they are ment to be. Is this going to be a problem, or is a trip up the mast in my future. I believe the PO had used the Genoa in this fashion for at least the last two seasons. I realized their might be a problem as I tried to hoist the Genoa on to the Shaefer Systems 2000 Furler. I checked the owners manual and they are very specific about halyard angles and swivel heights. One thought was that the installer changed the halyard location to better accomodate the furling system.
