Very simple fix.Take a large flat screwdriver at back of pin between boat and first roller and pry to front will come rite out. When replacing put a little caulk on pin, holds in in place.Do you have spacer. if not send me message

Thanks for the very useful to tip. Now I need a new spacer, too. Mine broke and was thrown away some time ago. I could cut a new one if I had a pattern.can you help me there?

That can't possibly be right, it would never stay there to begin with, would it?
There were holes filled with 5200, scrape it out and to drive the pin through. This was how a similar pin was installed at the factory on my Hunter 23 anyway

Brian the 23.5 you cannot drive it thru as the other side is on the inside if the hull and solid fibreglass. There is no 5200 on it. I have not beem back to my boat to fix it but I will soon and update how I did it. Sounds fairly easy fix.

Forget the molded in turning blocks. See the holes in the mast base plate? Fasten jib halyard and main halyard blocks in two of those base plate holes, route the halyards to the on deck three sheave turning block fitting and you're done.

Kind regards

Hugh

The retaining pin was held in place by 5200. I would go back with that caulk as it worked well for me

Hugh is correct for that advice but a word of caution not to crank in so hard on the halyards as I have seen the mast step flange break off and had to replace at times.
