Hello all, I am a proud owner of a 1970 Pearson 26. I am moving her into a marina, and the only problem I am having is that I do not know the hull number or where to find it. I know there are other Pearson 26 owners on here, help me out please.
Thanks buddy I just bought the boat, that sounds pretty easy. I grew up on C & C's and the HID's on them are nearly impossible to find between the different factories and designers.
HIN or hull identification numbers were NOT required on boats built before 10/31/1972 .... so, if your boat was built before that date maybe there isnt an embossed HIN on your starboard transom. http://www.sailingseadragon.com/SerialNumber.htm
If there isnt any number imprinted on the starboard stern, contact D&R Marine drmarine.com and ask *IF* there is a hidden HIN# and WHERE would its hidden location be located (bottom of drawers, hatch plates, etc.), It will probably be just #XXX. D&R is 'the' major parts source for Pearson & ODay boats.
Pearson also used a mounted bronze plate (with just the serial number embossed) that was located 'just below' the entrance to the companionway .... and THAT could be the ONLY HIN number available for your 1972 model year boat.
