My dad and I got together with Novelman for a great afternoon sail. Duane is giving up his boat a 85 Lancer. He is selling it for lack of use. He is always welcomed to sail with me and makes a excellent sailing partner. Its nice to sail with people who are experienced. It allows me to park my fanny on the bow pulpits and enjoy the ride.

Thanks for the ride Frank. You are a very lucky guy to be sailing with your Dad and a good friend. My only disappointment was in not being able to read the telltales.

CaGuy, One of the things I miss not living in Cal is the ocean and being able to sail out of sight of land. MDR was pretty much our main launch area. The picture of Freedom was taken out of Del Rey during SCYA Midwinters 1977. The only thing better than owning a boat is having a good friend with a boat. My boatless buddy was always with me when racing and we had some great times and fond memories. Fair Winds and Full Sails....

I have the tell tales but remembering to put them on is another matter. I also need to move the windex to the back of the mast it is impossible to see it where it is mounted now. I keep trying to challenge Duane into going up the mast but he's too smart to fall for it.

Love that, thanks for sharing!! Especially love the casual eating a sandwich or ?? and barely looking at what's comin' up....... what a blast. you are so lucky, I wish I had my dad to go out with me still, he would have loved a day like you had. And he really enjoyed sailing with his old guy friends too...... each with their kinda stiff hats and usually in shirtsleeves!. That was lots of fun, thanks for the ridealong.
