A previous owner of my 1976 O'Day 20, decided to modify the mast mount by cutting the top part off. I would like to have a replacement mount made, but do not have a scale picure of the original. I would appreciate someone e-mailing a picture of the starboard side of their mast mount, with a ruler held next to it, so I can have a new one fabricated, unless you know where I can buy a mount. Dimensioned Drawing

(OOPS! I couldn't attach a PDF as a picture so look for my next message with related link to a file on my website.)I measured the mast mount on my 1976 O'Day 20. Here's a drawing showing the dimensions. The mount is made of 3/8" marine aluminum. The semi-circle stop towards the front prevents the mast from sliding back out of the mount when the mast is vertical. Check this drawing against your mast to make sure it will work for you. You will need Adobe Acrobat viewer (free download from Adobe) to view the drawing.

Mast mount drawing

I measured the mast mount on my 1976 O'Day 20. Here's a drawing showing the dimensions. The mount is made of 3/8" marine aluminum (looks cast). The raised semi-circle at (A) towards the front prevents the mast from backing out of the mount when the mast is vertical. Check this drawing against your mast dimensions to make sure it will work for you. You will need Adobe Acrobat viewer (free download from Adobe) to see the drawing at the related link.
