h450 Racing ?

I am planning to enter the Miami Columbus Day Regatta. Does anybody have any experience racing a standard h450 with a rolerfurling main? Does the prop create less drag if the trans is in neutral or "in gear" ??

Not a good idea in gear

As it is a bad habit to leave in gear as it may start if power accidentally left on and most likely bad if you hit an obstruction, fishing line, net etc., and it may cause harm to the engine.

Hello Brian: The lower bay is fairly clean and you shouldn't have to worry about debris. The best arguement I heard for keeping prop in gear wasfrom a copter pilot. If they lose power, they will autorotate the prop to *slow* the ship down. Makes sense to me to lock prop in reverse. Anyway, if your going for the racing, I remember only a few boatsreally raced. it was mostly for the party and ambience. Predominate wind is light SE, with thunderstorms in PM. Good luck red
