I am looking at replacing my (2) 4D batteries and believing that more is better(most of the time) I looked at the outside dimensions of the 8D batteries and discovered that they were the same. Has anyone out there done this? Is this not a economical way of getting more power out of a lead-acid battery system??

I took a look at a couple of batteries and found that the 8D were about 10 inches wide whereas the 4D were less than 9. Make sure they'll fit in the same space as the 4D's you currently have...Most batteries have listing of Amp-Hours (AH) which tells you how much 'power' they provide.

For a dramatic increase in Amp Hrs..

consider replacing the 4ds with 6v golf cart batteries. A group of them in the same space as the 2 4ds will probably give you about 60% more available power. There is some good info on the link below..
