in my 1991 H 42 I have a strange problem that I hope someone may be able to help me with. The power outlet above the stove is not working- no power. All others on board are fine and I cant see any fuses anywhere . There is a circuit breaker in the power outlet opposite in the salon, directly above the bottle rack- next to nav. station- but all of these power outlets are working- any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

check both ends of the wire feeding the outlet and see if they are in good connecton to the source and also the outlet also so if you have a meter check that you are getting power to the source..be careful in there that stuff will harm you if you short something out or come in contact with live power ...best to have some one with you when working on high voltage....

on a side note....... do you have 120 v ac on 60 hertz down there on your boat or is it 220v 50 hertz like your land based power in oz......

is it a gfi outlet with a test/reset button. if not there is (should be) one on the circuit that protects the whole group. this might be you fault

They sometimes just go bad. First take off the cover and using a multi meter determine if you have power at the wires going to the plug. I suspect you will find that you do because all the other plugs are working. Then replace the bad plug with a GFCI.

Yours may be wired differently than my 40.5, but I'll share my experience:

I have had the power outlet in the galley stop working. It is on the same circuit as our forward head, which has the circuit breaker built into the outlet. When the forward head outlet is reset, the galley outlet works again.

Have you checked every single outlet in the boat?

Woody- I have left my boat with all USA power - I have a step down transformer which is 50Hz , but no issues and all good!

Eianm. We have a ground fault outlet on the same side as the galley behind the short settee! I think this one controls the one over the stove.

thanks everyone for your help and suggestions - TTAC was spot on- it was the power point behind the 2 seater that I didn't know I had which had the circuit breaker!!!
