Update on the washdown pump installation:
I finally got this job done!
I’ll probably wish I had done it years ago. I installed a Jabsco 5 gpm Hot Shot pump under the forward pullman birth. Since Free Flight is in the water and I wasn’t eager to drill a hole in the bottom of my boat I decided to tap off of the vanity sink drain seacock. I know this may not be the accepted way to do this and I had some concerns of possibly pulling air and or debris from the sink line to the wash down pump. During my test run It didn’t pull air through the sink but I will nonetheless plug the sink drain to minimize the drawl and picking up of debris. I install the pump under the forward part of the pullman birth with easy access to the pump and 10 Micron pre-filter. I ran the 3/4” reinforced vinyl hose under the floor and bow thruster to the pump then between the port side wall and shower wall to the large bow cavity behind the shower towel locker. I was amazed at the space behind the locker in the bow. The locker was easy to get out just 4 screws & cut the caulking. It is very large & barely fits through the shower / head door opening.
While I had the opportunity I checked the nuts on the windless for tightness and they all took 3/4 to 1 1/2 turn (thanks for that advice). I also checked every nut, bolt and screw I could get access to for tightness. I also checked the winless gearbox oil level and it was good.
Thanks to those for the advice and replies.
