Can anyone direct me to a post or picture of the underbody of the hunter 37 cutter? I understand this is a fin keel with either 5'1" or 4' draft. Is the rudder a spade rudder or is it skege hung? I wonder about groundings with this hull. I am leaning toward this boat for a cruiser for 6 months a year ICW,Keys and Bahamas. Thanks for all/any reply in advance. Mark

Spade, just hangin' there.

The only online sketch I know of is in the link below. Peter could be right, some of the yacht broker pictures might show the hull. You can also read about it on the Rainbow Chaser site: http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Cabana/7414/upgrades.html There is no skeg or keel for attaching. The post is very substantial, heavy stainless steel. The weak point seems to be the bearing surfaces, basically some 3/4" plywood with a little cloth and resin. I plan to double that framework. If the rudder has absorbed a lot of saltwater then ? ? ?.

Hunter37c keel

You can find a schematic by searching for "Cherubini" on the yachtworld.com site. Or check the owners site descriptions. That usually will turn one up. I just had mine hauled and with the 5 ft keel it has a modified full-keel look, dunno the technical terms but it is flat on the bottom and the bottom of the keel projects lower than the bottom of the stern-hung rudder.
