Saw where Sandpiper wants to remove the forward traveler and rebed. I think if there are bolts they were installed post purchase. Or maybe added in later model years. I removed mine('79) and there were only screws.
When I reinstalled I used plastic teak(PlasTeak) for the base so as never to have to varnish again.
