Designer's bet.

When each Hunter model's prototype he designed was being launched for the first time, my dad always got involved in the shop bet. Each guy put five dollars on his estimate:

'Inch high in the bow; level at the stern.'

'Two inches high in the bow; inch high at the stern.'

'Inch down by the bow; inch high in the stern.'

And so on.

When they got around to my dad he would stand (that is, slouch) there with both hands in his pockets (that is, not taking out any money) staring at the boat as the Travel-Lift lowered it, and he'd say, 'If that waterline is where I said it should be, there's my five bucks.'

He was never wrong.

I have always admired my dad; but I don't make this stuff up.

Chain plates on our boat are NOT the same distance from the toe rail. Maybe you can measure out 4 or 5 feet from the sides of the mast. Check mast for vertical. move inclinometer as needed.

We have 2 golf cart batteries, a windlass and 150 feet of 3/8 chain in in the bow. We are down so far, we have barnacles above the boot stripe. Deck drains are still not right. Just comes with all the great features of the boat.
