Brought home the cover of the AquaSignal steaming/deck light. After cleaning up the lens maybe it doesn't need replaced. Is the picture adequate to render an opinion?

Also have the AquaSignal anchor bulb here in front of me. It has no numbers that equate to "B15S". I think that number is for a bayonet bulb of 10 watts. Is this the right Dr. Led bulb? : http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|65136|296901|1249269&id=1393800 .

Thanks for your help.

The mast light on my H-30 was in similar condition I elected to replace it with a new fixture from Bebi Electric (made in Fiji) had to make an L bracket to mount on the mast out of 3" aluminum stock. Lest expensive light I could find, bullet proof construction. Low amp drawer and excellent light output.

I have a lens just like yours. Works fine. I put the old bulb back. It still works and I hardly ever motor at night, so I don't expect to wear it out..

Since I am placing an order I guess I will go with this: http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|17|295769|320397|320408&id=984900 . Shari at AquaSignal ensures me that it is the right part for replacing the lens. I'll get the lens and housing and then just use the lens for $19.00. I am also ordering bulbs for the deck and steaming light, a Dr. LED for the anchor light, and new 3/8" line for the reefing lines.

Defender order came today. Can you see any difference? :)
That is amazing. And I assume the Aqua Signal wasn't original either? (mine came with a Forespar unit, later changed to the same as yours) I wonder if applying ArmorAll or some similar product would slow down the deterioration. The power of the sun's UV rays is relentless. When I purchased my boat, I had to replace every single Delrin sheave on every block on the boat. By that time Merriman was out of business, so I used sheaves from Schaeffer. At $4 to $8 per sheave, it was a lot cheaper than replacing all the blocks. I hope I'll never have to do that again, but my steaming light is probably due...

Not doing spreader lights "rhythm". You can't tell from the first picture but the light is a combo steaming/deck light. It isn't very bright but I guess I have never found a need. Why do so many have or want spreader lights?

It would also be hard to wire given the way the spreaders attach. The wire would have to go across the halyards, out the side of the mast, then up into the spreader.

Yup.. Even my tired old eyes can see that new lens may transmit a bit more light !
I agree, Ed, my combo deck/Steaming (10 w halogen, if I recall) is plenty bright for foredeck..

That's right Claude, 10w halogen. That was part of my Defender order, that bulb and a two-pack for the steaming light. Also got a Dr. LED for the anchor light. Now I have to remember to polish the deck light reflector. There is no lens, just the bulb hanging down.

Yup, mine is the same, Ed, no lens.. on the halogen bulb, be sure to wipe all the glass with alcohol or acetone to get all fingerprints off since that can cause a premature failure.. then install using a rag to hold it so the glass stays clean.. I want to go to LED cabin, nav and steaming, and anchor bulbs myself, but haven't yet .. I figure I use the deck light so seldom that it really is not a problem... except that the LED wouldn't have to be changed.. (spiders leaving fingerprints? I dunno)
