I think I've discovered a flaw in the specs for the H37C. Capsize screen is stated as 1.91, but I've calculated it to be 1.812 which is 10 points to the good. Here is the formular: Displacement64= 278.125 Find the cube root of 278.125= 6.52749628 beam of 11.833ft6.52749628=1.812 Capsize screen is 1.812 and not 1.91 I've used this formula to calculate the capsize screens for the H34 and the H50 and they come out as stated.... Check the link below for the auto calculator. Does anyone agree??

I believe you're right

I tried the calculator at the link below and came up with 1.82

As stated where John?

I have always known it to be around 1.8. Where is it recorded as over 1.9 John? Probably right under my nose here on HOW somewhere I suppose. Back in 1998 when I was researching the H37C I discovered the formula that you used. One of many reasons I bought Ladylove.

Look in the specs for the H37C on this website. Says it is 1.91....

I got 1.75...

I did the calculations for the 37c a while back, my calculation was slightly different than yours; Capsize Risk (CR) = beam / (disp / (.9 * 64))^.333. I probably had too much time on my hands at the time and typed them all up and posted them here. If I did it right there should be a link to that post below, and in that post a link to the page where I found the calculations and explainations. I don't mean to discount your calculations, like I said just too much time on my hands (boring day at work).

No problem John. I think we all agree, we have pretty darn good boats....

John...

I read a comment in here a few days ago where someone said that a lot of people at Hunter still consider the 37c the best boat they ever built. It's nice to see things like this when so many people bad mouth Hunters. I was looking at the specs page you referred to in your original post and the D/L ratio, SA/D ratio and the Capsize screen all differ from the figures I found in my calculations. I wonder if there are variations in the different model years that could account for these variations or if there are minor variations in the calculations we use to determine them as we saw in our calculations. I by no means want to imply that my calculations are inerrant. Anyway there is a link on that specs page that allows you to have input in relationship to those numbers.
