Finally! After five years the little Atwood 750gph pump is installed in the bilge. I put it in the section immediately aft of the mast/shower sump section. I wired it like the shower sump. And I simply ran the hose into the sump bucket. No more having a gallon of water flow back from the hose. This pump has the internal float switch and comes on before the Rule 2000.If your boat is wired like mine the shower sump(and my new pump) requires that the house waterpump breaker be turned on. So the next trip I will wire it directly to the battery by splicing into the Rule 2000 wiring. What prompted this addition was the fact that the Rule 2000 hose is leaking. The water is running out under the galley sink and onto the salon sole. It is not completely disconnected because the water still shoots out the side of the boat. I know the hose runs up through the starboard locker under the settee and then behind the stove. There is a box in the galley cabinet that I will have to open I think.Well after getting the bilge all dry and installing the pump I decided to give Ladylove a much needed bath. When I went below again there was an inch of water in the bilge! Yep, a scupper hose was completely disconnected. And the other three hose clamps were loose! I wonder how long my bilge water has not just been rain down the mast? And yes, they should have been double-clamped.
