I have a 1980 Hunter 37 Cutter I purchased about 6 weeks ago. When it arrived here in Seattle from the bay area it was equipped with a bunch of used, poor condition sails all used with little reseblance to what should have been on the boat. I'm considering refitting it with sail sizes that may have come with it when new. I had a new Harken Furler installed with 44' 6" pin to pin. It has the original staysail boom and at this point all new standing rigging including running back stays.

I'm interested in knowing Leach, Luff and Foot of what should be installed on the furler and if it should have a "Yankee" cut. I don't want it to be larger than a 130 genoa. Also, what size and cut on the stay sail? The boat came with several staysails that seem to be in good condition. I have not measured the stay to know how long a leach it can hold.

Last, at this point as I'm coming up with more questions daily, specifically, how is the staysail boom supposed to be rigged? Would anyone have a photo of the lines attached to this?

Thanks,

Gary

Gary, if you want to stop by and eyeball my rig let me know. I just refurbished the staysail boom, so I am up to speed on the parts. In fact there is another 37C on the dock in beautiful condition, I think a '79.
