I have have a loose electrical connection inside the swiveling halogen fixture on my 2009 H36. I have removed the fixture but cannot determine how to access the back of the bulb socket. I have rotated and pulled the bulb socket but it doesn't show any sign that it will come out from the front.

Has anyone had success repairing one of these. I have about 10 on the boat and would like to be able to know if these are repairable.

Thanks

Halogen bulbs are power hogs. Very few things manufactured nowdays are reapairable and the rest are not worth repairing. You may consider starting to replace your fixtures with LED lamps or fluorecent.

I'm having a similar hassle with my cabin reading lights. One of the sockets gone bad in a plastic fixture similar to yours in the V-berth, and a bad switch in the aluminum aircraft type fixture in the salon.. Shockingly, I am finding that any kind of replacement fixture is pretty expensive. Turns out that it is cheapest to find a fixture, and if it's not already LED, just update the bulb. I replaced all the incandescent festoon bulbs in the overheads with LEDs. Lots brighter and less draw.
