H340 Mainsail Outhaul system mystery...

Hi Folks,
H340 standard 'loose footed' mainsail outhaul system is a bit of an inefficient mess.
Not sure what the previous owner had going on here... but it simply doesn't work how it should. Hoping someone can shed some light.
I'm 'guessing' there's an in boom purchase set up which then comes to the gooseneck through what looks like an exit sheave/jammer clutch under the boom. (See pics)
It looks to me like the outhaul 'tail' has gone back up inside and now faces the wrong way. If I can screwdriver 'fiddle' the tail forward over the sheave and through the jammer... is this how it's meant to work?
I'd rather not remove the boom end if I can avoid it.
Cheers and thanks in advance for any tips and tricks - Mark Mac

The sheave and jammer on my 380 is where the outhaul line exits the boom. There is a sliding car with another sheave within the boom which provides a 2 to 1 mechanical advantage. I'd guess your set-up is similar.

UPDATE: Thanks for the input folks. I got it all sorted woohoo!!! The outhaul line had slipped up into the mast at the gooseneck. On my particular system, I just used a short length of stainless wire and pointy nose pliers to re feed it the correct way way, up over the end sheave then returning through the jammer/handle lever. Fortunately the internal block 'n' tackle purchase setup was all still fully operational. It's a simple system that now works really well. To adjust foot tension, swing the lever up, then to lock in place... swing the lever down. Happy Daze!!!
