I trying to track down the last of my deck leaks that run down to the ice box area by running a hose over different spot on deck. I'm not up to the companion way and found a small drip onto the sink when I run the water into the sliding companion slot. There also seemed to be the same drip when I ran the hose over the traveler. I would like to take out each traveler bolt/screw/?? and rebed them, but I'm unsure on how they attach to the boat. Are they regular screws without a nut on the end or is the nut embedded into the deck?

They tap into an aluminum plate. Also, I had the same problem with leaks above the sink area and I surmised that it was because water can run forward atop the companionway sliding hatch and spill into the area in the ceiling above the salon. So. having to replace the hatch anyway, I had a new one made at Tap Plastics and, using a router, I cut a groove into the top side of the hatch about 1" or so from the forward edge. The groove runs the full width of the hatch and is about half the depth of the plastic and about 3/8" wide. The water now runs into the groove and is carried to the sides where it runs in the channels on each side back into the cockpit. This worked remarkably well. No leaks at all anymore.

+1 on Mark.. additionally, there are drain channels (port & starboard) at the front end of the slider pocket that can become plugged with debris.. On my boat, I found the drains glassed over from the factory; They'd never been opened! I carefully bedded my traveler bolts but I don't think they leak..as Mark notes, they are threaded into the embedded plate. These shots from this site.. His boat had the same problem as mine, the drain channel was blocked at the front where it should channel water to the tunnels where the lines run and then down to the deck..

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I checked the aft end of the channels and they were both open. I got water dripping when I shot water at some pressure onto the companion way cover which probably splashed over. I've rarely gotten water onto the sink from above, but we've had some incredible storms. i'll take out each traveler screw one at a time, put some sealant into the hole and then reinstall each screw. That should seal up any future issues. I'm still looking for the leak that is coming down inside the cabin along the front of the dish and cup holder and then into the ice chest.

Mike, I'm sure you've checked the portlight that is right above there, so maybe the clutch or cabin top winch needs to be rebed? If its not from your traveler anyways

Considering that two of the major leaks were the gaskets under the starboard waste port and port water fill deck fittings, checking the cabin top winch is an idea worth doing again. I ran water for 15 minutes over the port light above the ice box, but will check again.

Thanks
