I am trying to figure out how to replace the light bulb in my overhead light fixtures. The whole fixture turns to turn it on and off. Anybody know? Thanks.

Yes, just wriggle the cover off.
I replaced the bulbs with LED's :

But you have to get the polarity right or else they dont work.

Sorry for being so dense but do you pull the fixture straight down or wriggle it sideways? Help one more time.

Straight down. Pry it off. Takes a little muscle. The entire twisting-lens and the ring around pops right off, leaving only a low-profile plastic base.
